Features Tour 1: Event Management

Simple, easy... yet powerful!

Backend events management

The backend user experience and interface (UX/UI) has been completely redesigned. The backend events can now be easily filtered and ordered by: title, date, venue, number of registered attendees, past/upcoming, published, featured and pending approval. Other views like categories or venues are also been interconnected and can now be used as filters in order for you to quickly find the related events you were looking for.

Event creation (via backend or frontend)

Creating an event should be a quick and easy process, no more never ending forms to fill, no hard to understand extra components to manage registrations fields, no hard to grasp payment gateways to integrate. No matter if you are creating an event from the frontend or from the backend: Ohanah has you covered! You can even enable frontend moderation to know and approve the events your visitors create.

SEO done right - Welcome to the semantic web for events

Adding metadata, keywords and description to each of your events, in order to rank higher on search engines, is something that belongs to the past. Ohanah automatically uses the information of your event at the markup level using HTML5 microdata according to schema.org (used for both Event and Venue).  schema.org has been officially supported by Google, Bing and Yahoo. This means that search engines crawling your site will now understand each of your listed events, when they will take place, where, related images, description and so on, making them rank much higher of what you could achieve with the old metadata alone. Goodbye metadata, welcome to the semantic web, welcome to HTML5, welcome to microdata and schema.org.

Recurring events reloaded

Creating recurring events should be as easy as stating that the event is recurring every x days / weeks / months until a specific date. Generated recurring events keep track of their parents, children and brothers. This means you can correct and edit the whole series of recurrences in one shot, or just override and edit each single event as a separate instance.

A picture is worth a thousand words

What would be an event without its flyer, logo or image...? That's why Ohanah allows you to quickly upload and generate thumbs for the main event image, and also create galleries. You can publish all the related images in whatever module position you like as an ad-hoc event gallery.

Like, share, +1 and comment your event

Liking an event on Facebook can be worth few dollars according to the Eventbrite study. That's why we integrated social buttons on each event. You decide which buttons to show with a single click; no cut and paste of code snippets required. Easily integrate the commenting service you prefer for your events, for example Disqus or Facebook comments.

iCalendar ready - let your visitors save your events in their agenda

By dynamically producing iCalendar files (.ics), Ohanah allows users to save your events on their favorite agenda (iCals are supported by a wide range of calendar applications, ranging from Apple iCal to Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar).
